Ferozepur Railway Division collects Rs 10 lakh fine from 1494 ticketless passengers

Jaito, November 28:- A press release issued by Ferozepur Railway Division today said that, as per the directions of the Headquarters Special Ticket Checking Campaign, to increase the ticket counter sales in Ferozepur Division, a special ticket checking campaign is being conducted from November 28, 2025 to December 7, 2025 under the leadership of Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, under the leadership of Senior Divisional Commercial Mr. Paramdeep Singh Saini.
This special ticket checking campaign will stop irregular and ticketless travel on trains and railway stations running in Ferozepur Division. During this special ticket checking campaign, surprise checks will be conducted daily by teams led by various officers/supervisors. During this special ticket checking drive, information will be collected on how quotas and tickets were issued, the method of booking tickets through Tatkal agents and those confirmed under Senior Citizen Quota and VIP Quota.
A special ticket checking drive is being conducted on Jalandhar-Amritsar, Ferozepur-Bathinda, Ludhiana-Pathankot Cantonment, Ludhiana-Jalandhar Cantonment, Ferozepur-Ludhiana and other parts of Ferozepur Division. On the first day of the drive, November 28, 2025, under the leadership of Assistant Commercial Manager Mr. Rajkumar, fines of about Rs. 10 lakh were collected from 1,494 passengers for travelling without tickets and irregularly.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. Paramdeep Singh Saini appealed to the passengers to always carry valid tickets with them and travel in the respective class coaches. Travelling without tickets is a punishable offence. The Railway Administration will continue to conduct such ticket checking campaigns regularly in the future for the safety, convenience and revenue security of passengers.
