FBI offers 50000 reward for information on Indian national
New York: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a reward of up to $50,000 for information on an Indian national allegedly involved in the 2017 murder of an Indian woman and her six-year-old son. Officials here are appealing to the Indian government to extradite the suspect.
Nazir Hameed, 38, has been charged with the murders of 38-year-old Sasikala Nara and her son Anish Nara inside an apartment in Maple Shade, New Jersey, in March 2017. In February this year, Hameed was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.
US authorities have said that Hameed returned to India six months after the murders and remains there to this day. The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement that as the investigation into the murders progressed, he was identified as a particularly wanted person because it was revealed that he was stalking the victims' husband and father, Hanumant Nara.
A state warrant was issued for Hameed's arrest and the FBI is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to Hameed's arrest or conviction. Information about Hameed is listed on the FBI's 'Most Wanted' website.
