Farmers roar in Chandigarh on the fifth anniversary of the farmers movement
Chandigarh:- The United Kisan Morcha held a big gathering in Sector-43, Chandigarh on the fifth anniversary of the farmers' movement. A large number of farmers from all over Punjab participated on this occasion. The farmer leaders said that the promises made by the central government during the farmers' movement have not been fulfilled even after four years.
Apart from this, the Punjab government is ignoring the flood-affected farmers, which will never be tolerated. Leaders of farmer organizations and other trade unions affiliated to the United Kisan Morcha from all over Punjab are reaching the gathering in large numbers.
Meanwhile, the Chandigarh Police has made elaborate security arrangements in view of the gathering. The police has deployed about 3000 personnel due to the farmers' gathering and the demonstration to be held at Panjab University. The United Kisan Morcha is loudly raising the pending demands of the farmers' movement and other farmers' issues from the stage, including the legal guarantee of MSP. They will also send a memorandum to the central and state governments.
