Farmers of two villages refuse to give land for IMT Ambala

Ambala, January 8:- After the government implemented the process of setting up IMT in Nagal area of ??Ambala, farmers of two villages have met with the Bharatiya Kisan Union Shaheed Bhagat Singh and have clearly refused to give their lands for this project.
The union's district president Gurmeet Singh Majri said that the farmers of Nandiali and Khaira villages had sent a written message to him to consult on the issue of IMT. Accepting the invitation, the union's national president Amarjit Singh Mauhri, Jai Singh Jalbera, Manjit Singh Machhonda and other leaders have reached the meeting held at the Nandiali gurdwara and taken the views of the people. Majri said that the farmers of Nandiali and some Khaira villages have said that they do not want to give their lands for IMT at all.
Talking to the media, a farmer said that IMT does not benefit the farmers even by one percent. It is harmful for all the farmers. This farmer says that the government has invested one or two crores of his land, which is not equal to his land. He said that all the farmers want that the IMT project should not be implemented on their land.
He said that the rumor that the government has spread that the farmers of Nandiali village are in agreement is completely false. He also said that no farmer has expressed his desire on the government portal. He clearly said that the farmers of Nandiali and Khaira do not want to give even an inch of their land. Khaira farmer says he strongly opposes IMT
Bhartiya Kisan Union Shaheed Bhagat Singh National President Amarjit Singh Mauhri said that today a meeting of farmers and workers was held at Nandiali Gurdwara regarding the issue of IMT in which the majority expressed their disagreement with IMT and decided that except for a few people, the entire Nandiali village is against IMT.
The main reason for the opposition is the impact of IMT on the health of the water, polluted environment, waste from factories, etc. They will not give land for IMT to save the existence of their village and land for their children. Only a few people are going to the government, the majority is against IMT.
Mauhri said that those who are going to the government are not going unanimously. He said that we want to tell the government that the decisions that the government thinks that they are leaders or agents of their own free will, we want to tell everyone. If the government takes any step without the consent of the farmers and workers, then Haryana Kisan Morcha, BKU Shaheed Bhagat Singh will stand firmly with the community and fight every way. It is worth mentioning that the issue of establishing an Industrial Model Township in Ambala is many years old. Earlier, when this project was announced to be set up in Panjokhra area, there was a long round of protests and demonstrations against it. The government has to acquire 6 thousand acres of land of Adh Majra, Hassanpur, Khaira, Khaspur, Naggal, Nandiali, Sakhraon and Segta villages for the IMT to be set up by HSIIDC in Ambala Hisar Marg and Naggal area, for which the memo was issued on 15/09/2022.
