If a person understands body language, they can comprehend what another is thinking just by looking into their eyes. We meet some people in life who cannot express their feelings, yet their eyes say a lot and convey the state of their heart. We understand their intentions through their behavior alone, and for this, having an insightful vision is essential.
It is said that eyes announce every kind of emotion. If someone is angry, the eyes show it, and they can also overflow with love. As seen in Kathakali dance, performers use eye expressions to explain every color of life. However, sometimes we are deceived by eyes, which proves dangerous. Deception is never seen in the eyes of a truthful person; they stand by you for a long time—unless compulsion forces them to change. But they do not deceive intentionally.
On the other hand, it is vital to understand the expressions of a cunning person. Such a person might trick you with sweet words while playing with your emotions. Therefore, recognizing their eyes is crucial. Eyes can turn into embers at one moment and dew at another. Once, children lived in awe of their parents' eyes, a dynamic rarely seen today. In schools too, children used to be intimidated by a teacher’s gaze, and people of all ages respected the "look" of their elders. This is missing in today's generation. Neither do children respect elders, nor do elders maintain that old authority.
Identifying the truth in eyes is no longer easy. Everyone carries a hundred secrets in their mind. What is happening in someone's life remains unknown because everyone chats privately and discusses everything over the phone. Consequently, eyes are now mostly used just to look at mobile screens. Interestingly, despite reading your facial expressions, a mobile cannot understand your heart—though it certainly serves to unlock your password. People video call and chat; everything is conveyed through gestures and words known only to the two people involved.
Furthermore, eyesight is deteriorating quickly now; most people need glasses because of excessive screen time. Identifying emotions through eyes has become nearly impossible. Eyes no longer tell the heart's state or define someone's cunning or love. Therefore, the saying that "eyes are the mirror of the heart" is proving to be a lie. The meaning of the old song "Eyes are the announcement of every emotion" has changed today. In the past, eyes used to connect hearts; now, eyes don't even meet, even if everything else does. People choose partners based on lifestyle, clothing, and living standards, but no one reads the truth in the eyes. This is why relationships don't last long these days.
Now, you suggest a remedy: should eyes be used correctly or not? According to me, they should be! But no one will do it, because everyone has become addicted to burying their eyes in their mobiles and is learning new things that are changing the eyes themselves.
