Exhibition organized as part of drug awareness campaign
Ratia 27th November:- As part of the drug awareness campaign at Shaheed Davinder Singh Government Mahila College, Ratia, the college’s Drug Awareness Cell organized a poster, painting and slogan exhibition. The main objective of the program was to create awareness among the students about the ill effects of drug abuse and to promote a drug-free environment in the society. The exhibition displayed creative posters, attractive paintings and effective slogans prepared by the students, which effectively highlighted the physical, mental and social harms caused due to drug abuse.
The college’s Public Relations Officer, Prof. Surendra Sharma said that Principal Dr. Paramjit Sandha while praising the students said that drug abuse is one of the biggest challenges facing the modern society, which can be eliminated only through education and awareness. He said that the young generation is the future of the country, and if the students remain aware, they can bring positive changes in the society.
He stressed on the important role of educational institutions in eradicating drug abuse, appealing to all to take a pledge to create a drug-free society. Program Coordinator Dr. San Kumar said that the students in the exhibition have given a powerful message to the society through their creative talent. He further said that such activities not only enhance talent but also develop a sense of social responsibility.
The college students expressed their views while inspecting the exhibition.
Dr. Sajjan Kumar while inspecting the exhibition said that the posters and paintings displayed by the students effectively highlighted the ill effects of drug abuse. He stressed that drug abuse destroys the body, mind and family. Through the exhibition, the students gave the message that a healthy, safe and progressive life is possible only by staying away from drugs. All the staff members and students were present on the occasion.
