Every Section of Society Unhappy Under BJP Government Parag Gaba
Karnal, March 31: Targeting the BJP government, Parag Gaba, the Urban President of the District Congress Committee, stated that every section of society is currently plagued by inflation. He alleged that, due to the government's policies, the economic condition of the common man is steadily deteriorating.
Gaba remarked that farmers, laborers, traders, and employees—every single section—are unhappy with this government. Rising inflation has broken the back of the poor, making it increasingly difficult for them to meet their daily necessities. He noted that the value of the Rupee is constantly declining, a factor that has further exacerbated the situation.
According to him, on March 1st, the Dollar stood at ?91.06, a figure that has now risen to ?94.86. He dismissed the government's announcement regarding a ?10 reduction in excise duty on petrol as mere tokenism. He argued that India imports approximately 85 percent of its crude oil from abroad, and payments for this are made in Dollars.
Consequently, as the Dollar appreciates, oil prices automatically rise, effectively nullifying the impact of any relief measures. He recalled that even during the global economic crisis of 2008, India faced challenges, yet its economic management at the time was robust. The country was steered through that period through a combination of increased exports, balanced expenditure, and sound policies.
Today, there is a need for that same foresight and strong leadership. He asserted that the government must take appropriate measures to curb rising inflation so that the common man can find relief. Present on this occasion were various party workers, including Binder Poswal, Joginder Valmiki, Deepak Chaudhary, Gurmeet Singh, Praveen Punia, and Vikram Kajal.
