Every epilepsy patient deserves respect and better treatment Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh

Nawanshahr:- With the aim of eliminating social stigma and superstitions surrounding epilepsy and promoting medical treatment, Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh held an in-depth discussion on Thursday at the District Administrative Complex, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, regarding the 'Stop Epilepsy Project' being successfully implemented in the district by Dayanand Medical College (DMC) and Hospital, Ludhiana, in collaboration with the District Health Department.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh emphasized that every epilepsy patient deserves dignity and better treatment. He stated that awareness, timely identification, referral, free treatment, and continuous follow-up for epilepsy patients must be strengthened in the district so that every eligible patient can benefit from quality health services.
During the meeting, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinderjit Singh and Professor Dr. Gagandeep Singh, Head of the Neurology Department at DMC Ludhiana, informed that under this project, timely identification, screening, expert medical consultation, and free treatment services are being provided effectively to the people. They also mentioned that this project is proving to be a boon for epilepsy patients in the district, as they are receiving better and free treatment close to their homes.
Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh highly praised the entire team of the District Health Department, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, and DMC Ludhiana for the successful performance of the 'Stop Epilepsy Project'. He urged that these pro-people services for the welfare of epilepsy patients should be continued continuously and more effectively so that every needy patient receives quality healthcare services on time. He assured that whenever the district administration's support is needed to make this project even more effective, all possible cooperation will be ensured.
