Una, November 19: The meeting of the District-Level Joint Advisory Committee of the Himachal Pradesh Non-Gazetted Employees Federation, Una, was held on Wednesday at the Savings Building at the district headquarters, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal. Officers from various departments and officials from the district's non-gazetted employees' organizations participated. Various important issues concerning non-gazetted employees were discussed in detail, including discrepancies in pay scales and allowances, promotions, seniority lists, improvements in workplace safety and other facilities, and the construction of NGO buildings.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that employees play a vital role in administrative functioning and play a major role in implementing government policies and schemes. He urged employees to work with complete transparency, dedication, promptness, honesty, and experience for the welfare of all sections of society. He urged officers and employees to work in coordination to give new direction to development and further accelerate administrative functioning. The Deputy Commissioner listened carefully to the employees' concerns and assured them that all district-level demands would be addressed promptly, and state-level demands would be forwarded soon.
Regarding the issue raised regarding the construction of an NGO building, the Executive Director of the Public Works Department stated that the allotted land belongs to the Public Works Department, and the department is authorized to construct only projects under the Public Works Department on allotted land. The Deputy Commissioner requested that the land acquisition matter be re-addressed so that the matter could be resolved expeditiously. Regarding the poor condition of the Veterinary Hospital building in Haroli, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to dismantle the building immediately so that a new building could be constructed.
Regarding the issue of the three-tier pay scale for IPH technical staff, the Deputy Commissioner directed departmental officials to consider the matter positively and resolve it. He also assured prompt action on matters such as informing employees about the benefits provided on bank accounts upon the death of an employee, and providing leave to Panchayat Secretaries in lieu of duty on special Gram Sabhas on holidays.
In response to the demand for construction of roads for transporting machinery to and from IPH projects, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned SDM to assess the situation at the projects where road construction is causing difficulties and take appropriate action.
Emergency Service Employees Should Provide Cashless Medical Facilities
Regarding the issue of providing cashless medical facilities to firefighters working in emergency services in Una district, the Deputy Commissioner stated that firefighters perform a risky job. Therefore, submit an application in this regard so that the matter can be resolved at the state level.
On this occasion, District Non-Gazetted Employees Federation President Rajneesh Sharma welcomed Deputy Commissioner Jatil Lal and thanked him for his promptness, personal interest, and positive cooperation in resolving the employees' various problems and demands.
At the meeting were Assistant Commissioner Varinder Sharma, DSP Ajay Thakur, CMO Dr. SK Verma, officials from various departments, District Non-Gazetted Employees Federation General Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Senior Vice President Tara Singh, General Secretary Rajesh Kumar, employee representatives from all development blocks and other employee leaders, including those from Una district.
