Chandigarh:- As per the notification issued by the State Election Commission, Punjab, the election program has been announced for the Gurdaspur, Dinanagar, Qadian and Sham Chaurasi Municipal Councils of Gurdaspur district and Hoshiarpur district. With the issuance of this notification, the Model Election Code of Conduct has come into force with immediate effect in the jurisdiction of the respective municipal councils.
As per the election program, the process of filing nomination papers will start from today (May 30) and will continue till June 3, 2026. The scrutiny of nominations will be done on June 4 and candidates will be able to withdraw their names on June 5, 2026. Voting will be held on June 13, 2026 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
