ED attaches assets worth Rs 3000 crore of Anil Ambani Group

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached over 40 properties of Reliance Anil Ambani Group worth over Rs 3,000 crore. The properties attached in the money laundering case related to the alleged loan fraud include the Ambani family's Pali Hill residence and properties in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kancheepuram (Tamil Nadu) and East Godavari (Andhra Pradesh), ED sources said.
The attachments were made over the weekend. The attachment orders were issued on October 31 under Section 5(1) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), sources said. The above properties attached include office premises, residential units and pieces of land. These include Reliance Centre located on Maharaja Ranjit Singh Marg in New Delhi.
Sources said that the total value of the properties attached under the four orders is around Rs 3,084 crore. The case relates to alleged diversion and laundering of public funds collected by Reliance Home Finance Limited and Reliance Commercial Finance Limited.
