Hoshiarpur:- ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in Anganwadi centers of all blocks of Hoshiarpur district on Friday. This program was organized as per the directions of Social Security and Women and Child Development Department, Punjab and under the leadership of District Program Officer Gagandeep Singh. Rocket Learning Foundation provided special support in this event.
On the occasion of ECCE Day, educational and entertaining activities were organized for young children in various Anganwadi centers, which included painting competitions, poetry recitation, storytelling, games and cultural programs. Children participated enthusiastically in these activities and showcased their talent beautifully. During the program, Anganwadi workers provided important information regarding child health, nutrition, hygiene and vaccination to the mothers present.
Pregnant women were also made aware about the importance of proper nutrition, regular health check-ups and iron and folic acid supplements during pregnancy. On this occasion, a team from the Health Department visited Anganwadi centres to conduct health check-ups of mothers and children and encouraged them to adopt a balanced and nutritious diet.
Officials of the Women and Child Development Department said that such activities strengthen the overall development of children, including intellectual, emotional and social areas, and lay the foundation for their early education. The event proved to be an important opportunity for awareness and participation for children, mothers and the community.
