New Delhi:- An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale hit the Bay of Bengal at 11:48 am on Saturday. Its epicentre was 102 km from Diglipur, 15 km below the surface. The National Centre for Seismology reported it at X. A 3.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Kutch in Gujarat at 2:47 pm.
Its epicentre was 13 km north-northeast of Garhshisha. The district disaster management officer said there was no loss of life.
On Friday, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck the North Pacific Ocean. Officials have asked people in coastal areas to remain alert.
