DTF Meeting Held to Complete Preparations for Pulse Polio Campaign

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, June 23, 2026:- A meeting of the District Task Force (DTF) regarding the preparations for the National Round (June 28 to 30) of the Pulse Polio Campaign was held at the District Administrative Complex under the chairmanship of Mrs. Sonam Chaudhary, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development).
Addressing the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that no child of the district should be deprived of taking polio drops during the Pulse Polio Campaign. He said that for the success of this campaign, the cooperation of the Health Department as well as other government departments, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), educational institutions and the general public is very important. He appealed to all the concerned departments to work in coordination to make the campaign a success.
On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Giving detailed information about the campaign, Sangeeta Jain said that on June 28, polio drops will be administered to children up to five years of age at booths set up across the district, while on June 29 and 30, teams of the Health Department will go door to door to administer these drops to the children.
She said that according to the microplan prepared in the district SAS Nagar, a total population of 18,24,800 and 4,47,738 houses will be covered. During the campaign, a target has been set to administer polio drops to 1,68,876 children in the age group of 0 to 5 years.
The Civil Surgeon said that to achieve this objective, 547 permanent booths, 23 transit booths, 1095 door-to-door teams, 148 mobile teams and 41 transit teams will be deployed in the district. A total of 1284 teams, 125 supervisors and 2568 vaccination workers will be on duty for the campaign. Apart from this, high-risk areas will also be specially covered.
District Vaccination Officer Dr. Girish Dogra said that the Pulse Polio campaign is very important to keep children safe from a serious disease like polio. He said that for the establishment of a polio-free society, it is the responsibility of every parent to administer polio drops to their children up to the age of five. He appealed to all departments, social service organizations and the general public to extend maximum cooperation in this campaign.
Officials of the Health Department, representatives of various government departments and representatives of various nursing colleges also participated in the meeting.
