Nawanshahr:- Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Drug Victims Nawanshahr organized an anti-drug awareness camp under the "Drug-Free India Campaign" at Government Primary School, Village Chhuchewal (Nawanshahr). This camp was presided over by Mr. Ashok Kumar (Teacher). On this occasion, Mr. Chaman Singh, Project Director, while addressing the students, explained to the children that drug addiction is very dangerous. Sometimes even small children start using drugs out of ignorance, slowly getting trapped in the swamp of big drugs. Therefore, you should not fall for any person's trick and consume any drug.
He appealed to the students that if any family member in your house consumes cigarettes, bidi or any other intoxicant, then ask them to stop consuming drugs because tobacco consumption causes terrible diseases like cancer. Humans become physically and mentally ill due to drug use. While giving detailed information to the students about the ill effects of drugs, he also shared tips on staying away from it.
To stay away from drugs, we should read the biographies of our gurus, martyrs, warriors, then we will know about their struggle. With this, we can stay away from bad habits. On this occasion, Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur, Councilor also shared detailed information about the treatment of patients at the center that any drug addict can get free treatment by staying in the center for a month as per his wish, because addiction cannot be given up by staying at home, to give up addiction, it is necessary to approach psychiatrists and drug rehabilitation centers.
On this occasion, Mr. Ashok Kumar (Teacher) made the students aware about drugs and thanked the Red Cross team and said that we should implement the information given by the center in our lives so that we remain aware of social evils like drugs.
