Drug addicts cannot fulfill their dreams Chaman Singh Project Director
Nawanshahr:- Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Drug Abusers, Nawanshahr organized an anti-drug awareness camp under the "Drug-Free India Campaign" at PS Presidency Senior Secondary School, Village Pallia Kalan. This camp was presided over by Shri Sandeep Kumar Nanda.
On this occasion, Sardar Chaman Singh (Project Director) while addressing the students said that today's anti-drug awareness camp is being organized as per the directions of Honorable Secretary Sardar Shiv Dular Singh Dhillon (Retd. IAS), Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch, Chandigarh and Honorable Deputy Commissioner, Chairman of the District Level "Drug-Free India Campaign" Committee.
While giving information, he said that to eliminate drugs, where today the Government of India and the Punjab Government are working in different ways to make the country drug-free. There, the Indian Red Cross Punjab State Branch, Chandigarh, is making efforts to make the youth drug-free with the support of the Ministry of Social Justice, Government of India.
He gave detailed information to the students about the ill effects of drugs and also shared tips on staying away from drugs. He appealed to the students not to get influenced by any person and consume any drug. Because due to the lack of knowledge of students about drugs, they get trapped in the swamp of drugs and due to which they gradually start consuming big drugs like bidi cigarettes and heroin.
Therefore, if you face any kind of problem, then you should share it with your parents or teachers. He said that students can fulfill their set goals. If they are mentally and physically healthy. He said that the Drug-Free India Campaign is a campaign going on all over India.
Under this campaign, all the students and teachers took a pledge that we will all come together and make our family and friends drug free as well as ourselves drug free. Because the change should start from ourselves and we will make our state drug free. The main objective of this campaign is to stop the supply of drugs and make people more aware of drugs and to get the people suffering from drugs treated by the health department.
On this occasion, Parvesh Kumar (PR Educator) shared information about the work of the center that a person who is addicted to drugs, wants to get his treatment, can get treatment free of cost by getting admitted to the center for a month as per his wish.
On this occasion, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar (DPE) made the students aware of drugs and appealed to the students to stay away from drugs. He thanked the Red Cross team and said that our staff and students will also contribute to the Drug Free India Campaign and the war against drugs.
He assured that anti-drug awareness camps will continue to be organized in the future as well. On this occasion, Rishav Nanda (CEO), Poonam Nanda (Principal), all the staff members and a large number of students were present.
