Nawanshahr- On the occasion of Diwali festival, draws were held for the applications received through Sub-Division Wise Seva Kendras for issuing temporary firecracker licenses to sell and stock firecrackers in various cities and towns of the district today at the local District Administrative Complex.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Rajiv Verma informed that a total of 19 applications were received in the district, out of which 17 were received in Nawanshahr Sub-Division, 01 in Banga Sub-Division and 01 in Balachaur Sub-Division. Out of which 4 temporary licenses were issued in Nawanshahr Sub-Division, 1 in Banga and 1 in Balachaur.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Rajiv Verma informed that as per the directions of Punjab and Haryana High Court, these draws were conducted in a transparent manner in the presence of the candidates and videography of the draw was done. He informed that a total of 19 applications were received in three sub-divisions of the district out of which 6 temporary licenses were issued.
He informed that temporary licenses were issued to Shibo son of Navi Akam, Honey Aror son of Shri Joginder Pal, Pankaj son of Shri Anil Kumar and Hardeep Singh son of Shri Balwinder Singh in sub-division Nawanshahr. Similarly, temporary licenses were issued to Davinder Singh son of Shri Baljit Singh in sub-division Banga and Rajesh Mahajan son of Shri Darshan Kumar in sub-division Balachaur.
Giving information about the sale of crackers only at designated places and storage, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that in the sub-division Nawanshahr, the ground of Doaba Arya School Rahon Road Nawanshahr, Dussehra Ground Aur and Dussehra Ground Rahon have been designated. Similarly, in the sub-division Banga, Dussehra Ground Banga and in the sub-division Balachaur, Dussehra Ground Block Balachaur have been designated.
