Dr Sohan Singh Assumes Charge as Deputy Director of Prosecution in Karnal
Karnal, February 3: Dr. Sohan Singh formally assumed charge today as the Deputy Director of Prosecution in the Prosecution Department here. Previously, he was serving in the important position of District Attorney (DA) at the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban. He has been assigned this new responsibility in Karnal following his promotion.
Upon his arrival at the office, Dr. Sohan Singh received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the staff members. On this occasion, he expressed his gratitude to all his colleagues and said that he would discharge his duties with complete dedication, honesty, and commitment, working together with all his colleagues. He added that they would make the prosecution work more effective through teamwork and transparency.
Dr. Sohan Singh specifically mentioned the three new criminal laws implemented by the Government of India – the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) – which came into effect on July 1, 2024.
He said that he would launch a special campaign to raise awareness among the public about these new laws. Making ordinary citizens aware of their rights and duties and explaining the positive aspects of these laws will be his priority.
Dr. Sohan Singh's assumption of this charge is considered a step that will provide new energy and direction to the Prosecution Department. With his experience and expertise, he will make a significant contribution to making the justice process in Karnal district faster, fairer, and more people-centric.
