Chandigarh: Senior kidney transplant surgeon Dr Neeraj Goyal was honoured by Lok Sabha member and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur during the Health Care Awards 2026. Dr Goyal, who has performed over 1000 kidney transplants, was honoured for his role in advancing kidney transplant services and strengthening access to kidney care to patients in Himachal Pradesh and Haryana.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Goyal shared his views on kidney health, key risk factors contributing to chronic kidney disease and the importance of prevention and early diagnosis. He also stressed that raising awareness, timely screening and lifestyle changes are important to reduce the growing burden of kidney diseases in the region.
