Dons Entry in Karnal BJP Leader Demanded Rs 2 Crore Ransom

Karnal, January 6: The audacity of criminals in Karnal, Haryana, has once again been on full display. A sensational case has emerged where a BJP leader and president of the new grain market in Karnal has been demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore. The criminals sent a voice message via WhatsApp from a foreign number, demanding the ransom and threatening to kill him. The criminals warned that if contact was not made within 24 hours, they would take action that the victim would remember for a lifetime. Not only that, the accused also threatened to harm the victim's family and friends. The victim, a commission agent, has filed a complaint with the police, based on which a case has been registered at the City Police Station, Karnal, and an investigation has been launched.

**Commission Agent's Shop in the New Grain Market:**
The victim, Surendra Tyagi, owns a commission agent's shop in the new grain market of Karnal. In his complaint to the police, he stated that on the evening of January 4, around 6 pm, he was sitting at his shop. During this time, he received a voice message on WhatsApp from a foreign number, demanding a ransom of Rs 2 crore and giving him 24 hours to comply.

**Second Call, Renewed Death Threats:**
Subsequently, on January 5, around 2:30 pm, he received another call from the same number, which Surendra Tyagi did not answer. Upon not receiving a response, the criminals sent another voice message, threatening to kill him, his family, and his friends.

**Previous Threats:**
Surendra Tyagi stated that he had previously received similar threats from another foreign number on June 14, 2025. Due to the continuous threats, he and his family are living in a state of fear. He had filed a written complaint regarding the matter at the Sector-4 Police Post in Karnal.

**Police Statement:**
Police Post In-charge SI Rajan stated that a complaint has been received regarding the demand for a ransom of Rs 2 crore from Mandi President Surendra Tyagi. The ransom was demanded through WhatsApp calls and voice messages. A similar call was received about six months ago, but no formal complaint was filed at that time.
Now, after receiving the ransom call again, a case has been registered based on the complaint. The police are investigating who made the call and who is behind it. The culprits will be traced soon.
