Doctors Save Life with Endoscopy After Fish Bone Gets Stuck in Throat
Mehatpur/Una, April 15 (Rajveer Chopra): A minor act of negligence while eating fish nearly proved fatal for a 61-year-old man. Ravi Kumar, a resident of Hamirpur, had a fish bone lodged in his throat, which led to a serious condition.
According to reports, the bone got stuck in a highly sensitive part of the throat known as the ‘vallecula’, causing severe pain and great difficulty in swallowing.
The patient was immediately rushed to Arya Hospital, Mehatpur, where gastroenterologist Dr. Deepak Arya and his team began treatment without delay. Using endoscopy, the doctors successfully removed the bone without the need for any major surgery.
Timely medical intervention saved the patient’s life, and he is now completely healthy. Dr. K.R. Arya also played a significant role in the successful procedure.
