Doctors body found in car parked for three days

Ambala, August 4: On Tuesday morning, the body of a government doctor was found under suspicious circumstances inside a car that had been parked outside the City Polyclinic campus in Sector-10 for the past three days. The deceased has been identified as Dr. Nandan Kumar Jha; he was currently posted at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Patrehri village, having previously served at this polyclinic for several years. His body was found lying on the back seat of the parked car. The body appeared to be two to three days old and had turned completely black due to advanced decomposition.
When the polyclinic staff arrived for duty this morning, they noticed a car parked outside that had been there for quite some time. Upon closer inspection, they discovered the doctor's body on the back seat. The staff immediately informed the police and senior health department officials. Upon receiving the information, the police and a forensic team arrived at the scene and began an investigation.
According to reports, the car (registration number HR 01-AQ-4000) belonged to the doctor; a bottle of liquor, a glass, and a bag of clothes were found in the trunk. Reports indicate that Dr. Nandan Kumar Jha’s wife had passed away last October, following which he was posted to the Patrehri PHC. He had become very withdrawn and was under mental stress following his wife's untimely death. The couple had no children.
The police have taken the car into custody and collected evidence. Police officials stated that the exact cause of death would only be revealed after the post-mortem report is received. Currently, the police are investigating the matter from all angles. His family has been informed. Local resident Neeru Vadera stated that he knew Dr. Jha and that the doctor did not know how to drive a car.
