Garhshankar, March 20:- Today, the executive of Doaba Sahitya Sabha Regd: Garhshankar was elected at the Sardar Major Singh Mauji Memorial Library located at Gandhi Park in Banga Chowk.
At the beginning of the meeting, all the members expressed their grief over the death of the eminent Punjabi short story writer Lal Singh Dasuha. Expressing deep sorrow in protest against the killing of 164 schoolgirls and the killing of innocent people in the war and attacks imposed by America and Israel on Iran, the bullying of America and Israel was strongly condemned.
Before the election, the current president Dr. Bikkar Singh gave detailed information about the activities carried out during his executive session, on which the members present expressed complete satisfaction and suggestions for the future were also given. In the unanimous election held under the leadership of the General Secretary of the Central Punjabi Writers' Association (Sekhon), Prof. Sandhu Varyanvi, the following were elected: President: Principal Dr. Bikkar Singh, Senior Vice President: Balvir Khanpuri, Vice President: Amrik Hamraj, Chief Secretary: Pawan Bhamian, Finance Secretary: Ranvir Babbar, Organizing Secretary: Mukesh Gujarati, Office Secretary: Hans Raj, Executive Members Principal Dalwara Ram and Hardev Rai.
Sardar Mukhtiar Singh Happy will be the Chief Patron, Sarwan Sidhu will be the Patron and Prof. Sandhu Varyanvi will be the Advisor. This team of the executive will work from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028. Finally, the newly elected President Dr. Bikkar Singh thanked all the members for the support given by them during the past period and the members also assured to provide full support to the newly elected team.
