Chandigarh - Diwali was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm at the 13th Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The event began with the lighting of lamps and the worship of Goddess Lakshmi by Mrs. Kamal Sisodia, Commandant, 13th Battalion, CRPF. Officers, soldiers, and dignitaries from civil society were also present.
A colorful cultural program was organized on this occasion, in which energetic Bhangra performances, Punjabi folk songs, and a Tamil dance performance by a soldier were particular highlights. During these performances, the soldiers forgot the pain of being away from home and family and enjoyed the festivities with joy.
In her address, Commandant Mrs. Kamal Sisodia highlighted the significance of Diwali and said that the CRPF plays a vital role in the internal security of the country. He stated that the Force's personnel are constantly ready to defend the nation by courageously facing challenges like terrorism in Naxal-affected areas and Kashmir.
He also emphasized the importance of maintaining positive thinking and harmony in society, saying that only through this spirit can we build a happy and prosperous society.
At the end of the program, all officers and soldiers lit lamps together and enjoyed the fireworks. The celebration concluded with mutual Diwali greetings and an atmosphere of joy.
