Districtlevel competitions organized on the occasion of Sanskrit Week

Una, August 25: District-level competitions were organized on Tuesday at the Lata Mangeshkar Kala Kendra, Samurkalan, by the Department of Language and Culture, Himachal Pradesh, to mark Sanskrit Week. District Language Officer (Una), Nikku Ram, stated that students from various schools across Una district participated in the event. Competitions in song singing, *Shloka* recitation, essay writing, and quizzing were held. The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp before Goddess Saraswati.
He mentioned that approximately 36 students from various schools participated in the song singing competition. Meet (student of Government Senior Secondary School, Charada) secured the first position; Arushi Sharma (Government Senior Secondary School, Polian Purohitan) came second; Harshita (Government Senior Secondary School, Bangana) stood third; and Yashika (DAV School, Lathiani) secured the fourth position.
Thirty-five students participated in the essay writing competition. Rashika (Sanskar Adarsh ??School, Bangana) secured the first position; Pari (Swami Vivekananda School, Gagret) came second; Khushbu (Government Senior Secondary School, Kalaruhi) stood third; and Angel (Children Public School, Una) secured the fourth position.
Approximately 45 students from various schools participated in the quiz competition. Ruhani Dhiman (Government Senior Secondary School, Ripoh Misran) and Amanat (Sanskar Adarsh ??School, Bangana) jointly secured the first position. Jyoti (Government Senior Secondary School, Samurkalan) and Rameshwaram Nath (Government Senior Secondary School, Kaloh) secured the second position; Divya (Government Senior Secondary School, Basal), Akriti (DAV School, Lathiani), and Akshara (Government Senior Secondary School, Mandli) stood third; and Aanchal (Government Senior Secondary School, Dhanet) secured the fourth position.
Forty students from various schools participated in the *Shloka* recitation competition. In the competition, Khushi (a student of Arya Public School, Bangana) secured the first position; Vanshika (Government Senior Secondary School, Dangoli) and Harsh Kaundal (Government Senior Secondary School, Mandli) shared the second position; Bhushan (Swami Vivekananda School, Gagret) secured the third position; and Riddhima Sharma (Government Senior Secondary School, Kalaruhi) secured the fourth position.
The panel of judges for the competitions included Dr. Brijmohan and Shri Balkrishna Soni (retired from the Education Department); Dr. Mukesh Sharma and Dr. Narendra Kumar (Assistant Professors at Sanatan Dharma Adarsh ??Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Dohgi); Shri Govind (Assistant Professor at Government College, Chintpurni); Neeraj (Assistant Professor at Vishveshvaranand Vishvabandhu Bharat Bharati and Vedic Research Institute, Hoshiarpur); and Dr. Amit Saroch and Dr. Mukesh Kumar (from the Education Department).
Dr. Shiv Kumar conducted the proceedings of the event. Teachers from various schools across Una district were also present on the occasion. At the conclusion of the program, the District Language Officer extended thanks to all the participants and teachers. Certificates and prizes were awarded to the winners of the competitions.
