District Red Cross Society organizes a humanitarian camp 81 beneficiaries receive aid

Hoshiarpur:- Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner-cum-President of the District Red Cross Society, Aashika Jain, the District Red Cross Society, in collaboration with 'ALIMCO' Mohali, organized a massive humanitarian aid camp today at the BDPO office, Dasuya. 
The primary objective of the camp was to make differently-abled persons, senior citizens, and needy individuals self-reliant by providing them with assistive devices. During the camp, a team of expert doctors conducted free check-ups for 81 beneficiaries.
Following the evaluations, 18 motorized tricycles, 52 modern hearing aids, and 8 wheelchairs were provided to the eligible beneficiaries on the spot. Additionally, measurements for artificial limbs were taken for 13 beneficiaries, which will be provided to them completely free of charge within the next 10 to 15 days. 
Keeping in mind the comfort and better quality of life for the elderly, 40 crutches/walking sticks, 30 special cushions for wheelchairs, 8 knee braces, 40 lower limb belts, and 3 simple tricycles were also distributed to help them lead a dignified and self-reliant life.
District Red Cross Society Secretary Mangesh Sood and Joint Secretary Aditya Rana stated that the mission of the District Red Cross Society is to make the lives of the needy, differently-abled, and those with special needs simpler and dignified. Special appreciation was given to the efforts of MLA Karambir Singh Ghuman, who ensured maximum participation by creating awareness among the public.
 Furthermore, the dedication and contribution of Mandeep Singh and his entire team from the Miri Piri Society, Garna Sahib, in the successful conduct of the camp were also praised.
