District level rally and demonstration in Nawanshahr against fascist attacks

Nawanshahr, June 22:- The Anti-fascist Attacks Forum today held a district level rally and demonstration in Nawanshahr against fascism. The rally was presided over by Harpal Singh Jagatpur, Kamaljit Sanawa and Dasunda Singh Roorkee.
Addressing the rally, CPI (ML) leader Kulwinder Singh Waraich, Daljit Singh Advocate, R.M.P.I. leader Kuldeep Singh Durka, Jasvir Moron, CPI District Secretary Jaswinder Singh Bhangal, Niranjan Das Mehli and Parbhakar Tiwari said that the space available for democratic rights in the country is continuously decreasing, which is a matter of serious concern.
The leaders alleged that the BJP-RSS The central government led by the BJP is continuously attacking the democratic and federal structure of the country. He said that unemployment and inflation have reached their peak, while various threats are also looming over the fundamental rights of the people.
The speakers alleged that through the SIR process, a large number of voters are being deleted, which is affecting the constitutional rights of citizens to vote.
During the rally, the leaders demanded that the issue of Punjab's waters be resolved according to the riparian principle, that the management of Punjab's headworks be handed over to Punjab, that the Bhakra Beas Management Board be dissolved, that the central government's interference in river waters and dams be ended, that the Dam Safety Act be repealed, that Punjabi-speaking areas be included in Punjab and that Chandigarh be handed over to Punjab.
Apart from this, they demanded that the education policy being implemented by the central government be canceled, that the National Security Agency be dissolved, that the CBI be They also demanded that the state government's approval be made mandatory for any investigation in any state, release of all political prisoners and Sikh prisoners who have completed their sentences, repeal of UAPA, National Security Act, Disturbed Areas Act, Essential Services Act and other anti-people laws.
The leaders also demanded the repeal of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR), repeal of the Labour Code and restoration of old labour laws and rollback of electricity bills.
The speakers said that due to the policies of American imperialism and Israel, the Middle East has become the epicentre of war. They alleged that Gaza has been reduced to ruins and huge destruction has also been caused in Iran and Lebanon. They also said that the Indian government has not taken any clear and appropriate stand on these issues.
The event was moderated by Avtar Singh Tari. The rally was followed by a protest in the city, during which participants shouted slogans against fascism and anti-people policies.
