District Level Chess Championship Concludes in Ambala

Ambala, May 18:- The one-day district-level chess competition organized by the Ambala District Chess Association concluded successfully at Police DAV Public School, Ambala City. More than 120 players from over 12 schools in the district participated in the competition, showcasing their talent across categories ranging from Under-7 to Under-19.
Chief guests Akhil Jain and Shilpi Jain honored the winning players with medals and trophies. They emphasized that chess is a game that enhances mental development, decision-making, and leadership skills. The Association's Chairman, Dr. Vikas Kohli, stated that the game of chess helps children focus and develop logical thinking, adding that there is no dearth of talented players in Ambala. 
President Advocate Namrata Gaur mentioned that the association's goal is to promote players at the state and national levels. Vice-President Ashish Verma motivated the players, stating that every competition is a means to gain experience and build self-confidence.
During the competition, Kirandeep Gaur was given a special honor for becoming a Senior National Arbiter, making her the first woman Senior National Arbiter from Ambala.
The Association's Secretary, Randeep Gaur, informed that the performance of Mind Tree School and OPS School in the junior category, and Police DAV Public School and MM School in the senior category, was highly commendable.
The results of the competition were as follows: In the Under-7 girls' category, Eksha Jain secured the first position, Inaya Garg stood second, and Bhavneet Kaur finished third. In the Under-7 boys' category, Atharv Garg placed first, Radhak Jain second, and Aayansh Bansal third. In the Under-11 girls' category, Trisha bagged the first position, Aarvi second, and Sanskriti third. In the Under-11 boys' category, Riyansh Bhardwaj stood first, Agrim Goel second, and Ajitesh Bansal third.
In the Under-15 girls' category, Nia Sharma achieved the first position, Shakti Sharma second, and Tanvi Mahajan third. In the Under-15 boys' category, Raghubir Sharma secured the first spot, Sahajveer second, and Aditya third. In the Under-19 boys' category, Lakshya Kumar won the first position, Ojas Kaushik second, and Guru Chopra third.
