District Legal Services Authority organizes awareness seminars against drug abuse
Hoshiarpur: Following the guidelines of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, and the orders of District and Sessions Judge Rajinder Aggarwal, the District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur, under the leadership of Secretary District Legal Services Authority Neeraj Goyal, organized awareness seminars in various villages of Hoshiarpur and its sub-divisions to educate the youth about the dangers of drug abuse.
Panel Advocate Ashish Jyoti, Retainer Advocate Sarita Kanwar, Panel Advocate Barjinder Singh, Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel Vishal Kumar, and Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel Sandeep of Hoshiarpur presided over the awareness seminars.
During the seminars, while informing the youth and the community about this campaign, they said that the main objective of this campaign is to motivate the younger generation to give up drugs and engage in positive activities for a better future, so that a good society can be built. They also emphasized that drug addiction ruins a person's life and creates discord in the family.
During the seminars, information was also provided about the NALSA (Drug Awareness and Wellness Navigation - For a Drug-Free India) scheme 2025, the effects of drugs on health, family, and social life, and the legal provisions of the NDPS Act. Finally, paralegal volunteers working with the District Legal Services Authority distributed awareness materials.
