District Language Office Mohali organized childrens literature quiz competitions

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 14: Under the guidance of Punjab Higher Education and Languages Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains and the direction of Director Language Department, Punjab S. Jaswant Singh Zafar, District Language Office, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar today organized written children's literature quiz competitions for students at Paragon Senior Secondary School, Sector-71, S.A.S. Nagar. About 120 students from various schools and colleges of the district participated in these competitions.
Research Officer Dr. Darshan Kaur welcomed the students, teachers, parents and dignitaries who came to participate in the competitions and thanked them for preparing and sending the students for these competitions.
As per the rules of quiz competitions, these competitions were conducted in written form and one hour was allotted for them. A total of 100 questions related to Punjabi language, literature, religion, personalities, culture, history and geography were asked to the students and the total marks of the question paper were 400.
While giving information about the results of the quiz competitions, District Research Officer Dr. Darshan Kaur informed that in category 'A' (sixth to eighth), the first place was secured by Gurjot Singh (S.H.S. Karkaur), the second place was secured by Harleen Kaur (Shiwalik Public School, Phase-6, Mohali) and the third place was secured by Gurmanpreet Singh (Guru Nanak Foundation Public School, Sector-92, Mohali). 
Similarly, in category 'A' (9th to 12th), the first position was secured by Harjot Singh (Shishuniketan Public School, Sector-66, Mohali), the second position was secured by Japnimit Singh (Shishuniketan Public School, Sector-66, Mohali), and the third position was secured by Simran Kaur (SSS Jhanjeri). 
Similarly, in category 'C' (Graduation), the first position was secured by Manpreet Kaur (Government College, Derabassi), the second position was secured by Navjot Singh (Government College, Phase-6, Mohali) and the third position was secured by Jasmine Kaur (Government College, Derabassi).
The students who secured the first position in various categories from the district will participate in the state-level quiz competitions during Punjabi month.
Senior Assistant Manjit Singh and all the stenography students were also present on the occasion. The Office of the District Language Officer, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar thanked the Principal and all the staff of Paragon Senior Secondary School, Sector-71, Mohali for their cooperation in conducting these competitions smoothly.
