District Election Officer reviews progress of SIR
Hoshiarpur:- Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ashika Jain held a review meeting with all Election Registration Officers to review the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign of voter lists in the district. During the meeting, she reviewed in detail the counting work being done by the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) going from house to house.
The District Election Officer instructed the officers that the information of the counting work being done by the BLOs should be uploaded on the designated mobile app in a timely manner and it should be ensured that no eligible citizen of the district is deprived of registering his name in the voter list.
He informed that the eligibility date for the Special Intensive Revision has been fixed as 1st October 2026. Under this, the BLOs will be able to do so by 24th July 2026. The enumeration work will be done by going door to door and an enumeration form will be filled from every eligible voter.
Ashika Jain said that if a voter is found absent in a house or the house is found closed, then the concerned BLO will visit that house thrice. During the first visit, the BLO will paste the information about his next visit on the door of the house, so that the concerned family can get information in advance and no voter is left out of this process.
