District administration strict to curb accidents RTO Amandeep Kaur

Hoshiarpur:- An important meeting was held today under the chairmanship of the District Road Safety Committee on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain. In this meeting, RTO Amandeep Kaur issued clear guidelines to all the concerned departments to celebrate National Road Safety Month 2026 effectively. During this, SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur was also present with her.
Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Amandeep Kaur informed that various activities will be organized during the National Road Safety Month to reduce road accidents, increase awareness about traffic rules among the common people and promote safe driving. She said that all the departments should work in coordination with each other so that this campaign can be made successful at the ground level.
RTO Amandeep Kaur said that during the meeting, the education department, police department, health department, municipal corporation and other concerned departments were directed to organize awareness programs in schools, colleges, industrial units and public places. Along with this, emphasis was also laid on reviewing the condition of road signs, zebra crossings, speed breakers and traffic signals and making necessary improvements.
She said that reflectors have been installed on vehicles today as part of a special campaign to improve visibility during fog and night, reducing the risk of accidents. The RTO appealed to drivers to install reflectors on their vehicles, wear helmets and seat belts and strictly follow traffic rules.
