Director SCERT Punjab visits examination centres
Nawanshahr, January 4:- Kiran Sharma, Director of State Educational Research and Training Institute Punjab, today visited various examination centres under the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship of Class VIII and Punjab State Proficiency Test of Class X. Nodal officers were appointed at the district level so that the students do not face any difficulty in the examination.
If necessary, students could contact them through their school principals. The timings of both these examinations were from 11 am to 2 pm. Director SCERT Punjab Kiran Sharma said that the aim of these examinations is to help the bright students financially so that they can continue their studies in the next classes without any hindrance.
While students who pass under the NMMS scheme are given Rs. 1000/- per month for the next four years, students who pass the 10th exam are given Rs. 4800/- for the next two years. The aim of these exams is to select eligible students based solely on merit.
In this regard, Assistant Director (Scheme) Seema Khera and State Nodal Officer Ashok Kumar said that 306 examination centers were set up for these exams across Punjab. This exam was conducted peacefully across Punjab.
