Dilbag Lathar receives honorary doctorate
Karnal: Arya Dilbag Singh Lathar, a senior journalist and social activist from Gharaunda, has been awarded the honorary degree of Vidya Vachaspati (Ph.D.) in journalism by Vikramshila Hindi Vidyapeeth, Bhagalpur (Bihar). The honor was conferred on him at a grand ceremony held at the Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy, Haridwar.
Uttarakhand Minister of State Shyamveer Saini, Director of the Sanskrit Department and Secretary of the Academy, Dr. Anand Bhardwaj, and Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Gopal Narsan, were present as chief guests.
Scholars, litterateurs, academics, and social workers from across the country also participated in the event. Arya Dilbag Singh Lathar has been active in the fields of journalism, social service, and environmental protection for the past 25 years. He is the Vice President of Arya Samaj Gharaunda and the General Secretary of the Education and Environment Society. He has also been involved in the Swachhata Abhiyan for two decades.
He has previously received honors at the district, state, Chief Minister, and Governor levels. Upon receiving the honor, Lathar said, "This is an unforgettable moment in my life. This honor will further accelerate our work to protect society and the environment."
