Detailed review of health programs in District Health Society meeting
Hoshiarpur:- An important meeting of the District Health Society was held today in the Ashok Chakra Meeting Hall located in the Mini Secretariat. The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Hoshiarpur Amarbir Kaur Bhullar, while Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Balveer Kumar led the proceedings. All district program officers, senior medical officers, and other officers and employees of the health department were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of the targets and achievements of various health programs and schemes being run in the district. In addition, necessary directions were issued to ensure the effective implementation of the plans.
At the beginning of the meeting, Civil Surgeon Dr. Balveer Kumar informed that Hoshiarpur district has secured the first position in the entire Punjab with an excellent sex ratio of 970, for which the district has been specially honored by the Health and Family Welfare Minister. On this achievement, ADC Amarbir Kaur Bhullar praised the efforts of the health department and congratulated the entire team.
In the meeting, instructions were given to all health institutions to ensure 100 percent vaccination and to upload the complete vaccination-related record online. Along with this, emphasis was laid on further strengthening family planning, maternal and child health services. Instructions were also given to ensure regular monthly health check-ups of pregnant women in Aam Aadmi Clinics, examination of high-risk cases by specialist doctors, and availability of medicines to pregnant women on a priority basis.
In addition, directions were given to hold meetings of Rogi Kalyan Committees from time to time and to prepare necessary teams for the effective implementation of the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme up to Rs. 10 lakh, which is starting in January.
In the meeting, national health programs including TB Control Program, Leprosy Control Program, Tobacco Control Program, Hepatitis Control Program, etc., were also reviewed, and necessary directions were issued to implement them in a more smooth and effective manner.
