Despite IMAs call Ayushman Bharat Yojana services in Haryana remained uninterrupted

Chandigarh, September 2:- Health services under Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) continued as usual in Haryana. Despite the call by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to stop services under the scheme from the night of August 31 to the night of September 1, there was no major problem in getting treatment for eligible beneficiaries in the state.
According to information received from the State Health Authority (SHA), Haryana, during this period, more than 1,314 claims were submitted by private listed hospitals alone. When claims from government hospitals are also included, a total of more than 3,511 claims were submitted under Ayushman Bharat Yojana. This number is higher than the average of about 3,441 claims submitted daily under the scheme. It is clear that the call of IMA did not have any major impact on the patients receiving treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in the state.

**Health Authority in constant touch with hospitals:
The State Health Authority kept a close watch on the entire matter. Continuous contact was maintained with the officers at the district level, District Implementation Managers and the enlisted hospitals. All the enlisted hospitals were asked to continue treatment and health services as usual, giving priority to the eligible patients of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. The hospitals were also asked to ensure that no eligible patient faces unnecessary hassle in getting treatment under the scheme.
According to the SHA, no complaint of denial of treatment to any eligible patient or disruption in health services under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana was received during this period. It is also clear from the responses received from the hospitals and the number of claims submitted during this period that the beneficiaries continued to get health services under the scheme.

**Report of Rs 12,000 crore dues called misleading:
The State Health Authority has described the news related to Rs 12,000 crore dues of hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in some newspapers as not factually correct. SHA said that such information creates unnecessary confusion among the beneficiaries and the general public. The actual status of payments and claims under the scheme is checked as per the prescribed procedure. The authority has appealed to the general public not to trust unconfirmed news or incomplete information and to believe only correct and official information.

**Complaint of denial of treatment will be investigated:
The State Health Authority has clarified that if a complaint is received from a beneficiary that a listed hospital on August 31 or September 1 refused to provide treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, then that matter will be investigated as per the prescribed procedure.
SHA Will review the complaints and information received from the hospitals. If the investigation finds that any hospital has denied treatment to an eligible beneficiary under the scheme or deliberately obstructed treatment, appropriate action will be taken against the concerned hospital as per the rules.

**Appeal to beneficiaries to continue treatment:
The State Health Authority has assured all the eligible families of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana that they can continue their treatment in the listed hospitals of the state as per the prescribed procedure. The beneficiaries have been appealed not to be influenced by any rumour, unverified information or misleading news.
The priority of the Haryana Government is to provide timely, easy and better health services to the eligible citizens of the state. The State Government is fully committed to the effective operation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana and it is being ensured that the eligible beneficiaries do not face any kind of problem in getting treatment. The State Health Authority is continuously coordinating with the district level officials and enlisted hospitals so that the provision of health services and treatment under the scheme continues smoothly.
