Deputy Commissioner visits grain market reviews wheat procurement arrangements
Hoshiarpur:- Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain today visited the local grain market and reviewed the wheat procurement arrangements as well as the facilities ensured for farmers, laborers and arhtiyas and directed the officials to procure wheat without any delay and in a proper manner so that the farmers do not face any kind of problem in the markets.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, who reached the grain market along with the officials of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, interacted with the farmers present in the market and got information about the arrangements. Balwinder Singh, a farmer from village Monakal, present in the market, said that he has brought his crop and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements in the market.
The Deputy Commissioner said that apart from purchasing the farmers' crop within the stipulated time, payments will be ensured within the stipulated time. He said that all necessary arrangements have been made for the procurement agencies so that no problem arises.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain earlier held a meeting with representatives of procurement agencies and officials of the Food and Civil Supplies Department regarding the procurement of wheat at the District Administrative Complex and directed that farmers should not face any problem in the district markets and their crops should be procured in a smooth and orderly manner. On this occasion, apart from Additional Deputy Commissioner Nicas Kumar, concerned officers, brokers and farmers were also present.
