Deputy Commissioner Una inaugurated the State Level Under14 Girls Sports Competition

Una, October 30 – Deputy Commissioner, Una, Jatin Lal, today (Thursday) inaugurated the State Level Under-14 Girls Sports Competition at Van Vihari Nand Brahmachari Government Model Senior Secondary School, Saloh. Approximately 440 girls from ten districts of the state are participating in this three-day competition. Hockey, basketball, and handball competitions will be held during the competition.
At the opening ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner saluted the players' march past parade and enjoyed the colorful cultural programs presented by the school students. He commended the school management for organizing the event and wished all the players excellent performance.
In his address, Deputy Commissioner Janit Lal urged students to actively participate in sports along with their education. He said that sports not only promote physical and mental development, but also strengthen discipline, team spirit, and brotherhood.
Motivating the students, he said that one should never give up in life, because a person either wins or learns. Failure should not be considered a defeat, but should be considered an opportunity to learn. Success is achieved only through continuous effort and determination.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to the youth to be aware of the evil of drug addiction and said that everyone must work together to eradicate this social evil so that the young generation can be saved from its effects.
On this occasion, Deputy Director of Education (Primary) Una Somlal Dhiman, Principal Vikram Bahadur, ADPO Una Ravinder Bhullar, representatives of teams from various districts including Rajesh Kaushal, Rakesh Kumar, Ajay Sharma and Sheesh Ram were also present.
