Deputy Commissioner reviews progress of Mukhtar Mantri Mawan Dhian Satkar Yojana
Nawanshahr:- Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh today held a special meeting at District Administrative Complex Nawanshahr to review the progress of Mukhtar Mantri Mawan Dhian Satkar Yojana.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner obtained detailed information from the officials of Social Security and Women and Child Development Department regarding the applications received under the scheme, approved cases and distribution of financial assistance.
The Deputy Commissioner said that this scheme launched by the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is an important step towards the respect and empowerment of mothers and daughters. He directed the officials to ensure timely scrutiny of all applications received under the scheme and that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of the benefits of this scheme.
He said that so far the registration of 1,68,334 women has been completed in the district. During the meeting, he directed to immediately dispose of the pending cases under the Chief Minister's Mothers and Daughters Satkar Yojana, so that the eligible women can get the benefits of the scheme as soon as possible.
The Deputy Commissioner said that widespread awareness should be spread about this scheme at the village and ward levels, so that maximum eligible women can get the benefits of this scheme.
He also informed that the financial assistance provided under the scheme is being directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
Officials of the relevant departments including the Social Security and Women and Child Development Department were present in the meeting.
