Deputy Commissioner reviews ongoing and upcoming development works in Dhuri constituency

Sangrur/Dhuri, February 9:- Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba held a marathon meeting with the officers of the concerned departments to review the various development works being undertaken in Dhuri constituency and to be initiated in the coming days. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of the departments to ensure that all development works are completed within the stipulated time with mutual coordination, so that the common people can get facilities on time.
Mr. Rahul Chaba said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann personally takes daily reports on the progress of various development works and beautification projects being undertaken in Dhuri constituency. He said that unnecessary delay and lack of quality in any ongoing work will not be tolerated. He instructed the officers to personally go and supervise the ongoing development works so that the works can be completed on time and with high quality.
During the review meeting, it was informed that a total of 11 development works related to the beautification of Dhuri city will be completed in the next two months. In this regard, Executive Officer, Municipal Council Dhuri Gurvinder Singh informed that the beautification work of Kranti Chowk of Dhuri city is in progress at a cost of Rs. 1.41 crore.
He informed that the tender process for the renovation of MC Park near Sabzi Mandi and installation of the statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar Ji has been completed at a cost of Rs. 1.09 crore, while the indoor sports hall adjacent to Sabzi Mandi will be upgraded at a cost of Rs. 27.63 lakh.
He further informed that the “Wild Arena” park will be developed at a cost of Rs. 1.03 crore under ROB (Sangrur side) at Dhuri, the work of which is going to start soon. Apart from this, the work of beautification and upgradation of Dhuri entry from Malerkotla side with Rs 1.91 crore, beautification and upgradation of Dhuri entry from Bagrian/Nabha side with Rs 1.70 crore and beautification and upgradation of Dhuri entry from Sangrur side with Rs 2.15 crore will also be started in the coming days. Apart from this, development and beautification of Sherpur Chowk below ROB will also be done with a cost of Rs 3.10 crore.
On this occasion, information about the ongoing works on STP was shared by the Ex-Eng Water Supply and Sewerage Board Rahul Kaushal. Ex-Eng of Punjab Mandi Board Puneet Sharma informed about the progress of the sports complex being built at Kaheru, while Ex-Eng of Public Works Department Ajay Garg informed about the ROB to be built at a cost of Rs 54.76 crore and said that the tender process is underway and the work will be started soon.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Sukhchain Singh, SDM Dhuri Rishabh Bansal, DSP Gurpreet Singh and officials from various departments were present during the meeting.
