Deputy Commissioner Inspects UnderConstruction Flyover Directs Officials to Expedite Work

Karnal, July 2: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma visited various projects currently under construction as part of the Smart City initiative today. While inspecting the flyover, he directed the concerned agencies to accelerate the pace of work and ensure its completion within the stipulated timeframe. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Saloni Sharma and officials from other departments were present on the occasion.
This evening, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by officials from the Smart City project and the Haryana Urban Development Authority, inspected the elevated bridge being constructed along the route stretching from Haryana Nursing Home, passing through Maharishi Valmiki Chowk, and extending beyond the Old Bus Stand. A representative of the construction agency stated that approximately 80 percent of the bridge's construction is complete. Although the project is scheduled for completion by January 2027, the work is expected to be finished two to three months ahead of schedule.
The project is estimated to cost around ?128 crore, and the bridge spans a length of 3.280 km. A total of 85 pillars have been erected for the bridge. The bridge's length is 900 meters from Ghantaghar Chowk to the Old Bus Stand and 2,380 meters from Rana Academy to the District Library.
Subsequently, the Deputy Commissioner visited the under-construction Observation Center and Working Women's Hostel located in Shakti Colony. Officials informed him that both projects would be completed at a total cost exceeding ?17 crore. The work is currently in its final stages. The Deputy Commissioner noted that the construction of the shopping complex has been completed and it will soon be handed over to the Municipal Corporation.
