Deputy Commissioner inaugurates Under19 StateLevel Games
Una, October 14 – Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal formally inaugurated the 66th State-Level Indoor Games for Girls under-19 at the Government Utkrisht Kanya Sr. Secondary School, Una, on Tuesday.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the organizing committee for the successful event and wished all the players their best performance.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner urged students to actively participate in sports, along with their education. He said that sports not only promote physical and mental development, but also foster discipline, team spirit, and mutual brotherhood.
He emphasized that one should never give up in life; one either wins or learns. He encouraged students to not consider failure a defeat, but rather consider it a learning opportunity. Success is achieved through persistent effort and determination.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the youth to remain vigilant against the evils of drug addiction, stating that everyone must work together to eradicate this scourge from society and protect the youth from its influence.
He also noted that the performance of female athletes at the national and international levels has been more commendable than that of male athletes, which is inspiring for society.
Earlier, Anil Kumar Takkhi, Deputy Director of the Higher Education Department, Una, welcomed the chief guest and other guests. He informed that 690 athletes from all districts of the state are participating in the competitions. These competitions will be held until October 16th, covering disciplines such as badminton, boxing, tennis, wrestling, taekwondo, karate, chess, and judo.
School Principal Suresh Kumar Sharma presented the vote of thanks and shared information about the school's various activities. Attractive cultural programs were also presented on the occasion.
On this occasion, Vice President of Himachal Pradesh Badminton Association Ashok Thakur, Deputy Director of Primary Education Som Lal Dhiman, ADPEO Jagjit Singh and Rajendra Sharma along with others were present.
