Deplorable State of Cleanliness at Tau Devi Lal Stadium OP Sihag

Haryana/Panchkula: O.P. Sihag, the Panchkula District President of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), has stated that Panchkula's world-class Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex is currently in dire need of proper cleaning and maintenance. He noted that, over time, successive state governments have equipped this stadium with international-standard sports grounds and infrastructure for various disciplines, subsequently handing them over to the Sports Department. However, due to the negligence and incompetence of Sports Department officials, this international-level stadium has proven to be a complete failure in terms of cleanliness.
JJP District President O.P. Sihag mentioned that Panchkula residents who visit the complex for their morning walks informed him that the entire stadium—including every road, the areas surrounding the various sports grounds, and the restrooms—is in a deplorable state of filth. Dirt and dried leaves from trees lie scattered everywhere, creating the impression that no one has ever undertaken any cleaning work there.
JJP District President O.P. Sihag and District Secretary Surinder Chadda toured the entire stadium today and observed that, despite being such a well-constructed facility, the Tau Devi Lal Stadium is in a severely poor condition regarding cleanliness. From the main entrance onwards, the lack of cleaning is evident everywhere, with nothing but filth visible throughout the premises. They pointed out that major tournaments for various sports—including cricket—are held at this stadium every month. A large number of athletes from across the country visit the complex to compete; additionally, hundreds of Panchkula residents come here every morning and evening for their walks.
The lack of proper sanitation here not only brings disrepute to the entire city of Panchkula but also poses a serious risk to the health of the athletes who train and reside in the on-site hostels. They have urged the Director of the Sports Department and the District Deputy Commissioner to take immediate and necessary measures to address the cleanliness issues at the stadium, and to ensure the appointment of an adequate number of cleaning staff for the future.
