Democratic Employees Federation strongly condemns the violence against protesting employees and pensioners

Garhshankar, March 8:- The Democratic Employees Federation and Democratic Teachers Front Punjab have strongly condemned the violence against protesting employees and pensioners by the Punjab government and Chandigarh police under the call of the Punjab Employees and Pensioners Joint Front. Issuing a statement to the press, DMF and DTF leaders Makesh Kumar, Manjit Singh Dasuha, Sukhdev Dancewal Indersukhdeep Udra, Vinay Kumar, Parveen Kumar, Rajinder Kumar, Baljinder Sahota, Rakesh Kumar said that the Punjab government had made many promises to the workers, employees and pensioners working on honorarium before the elections, but after coming to power, it has not fulfilled a single demand of the employees for the last four to four and a half years.
The Chief Minister of Punjab and the government have not even once held a meeting with the employees regarding these demands and the meetings have been postponed repeatedly after giving time. As a result of which, employees and pensioners have announced to protest from March 8 to March 11 during the budget session. Under which, on March 8, thousands of pensioners of Punjab, employees and pensioners gathered in Mohali and marched towards Chandigarh. But instead of listening, the Punjab government resorted to tear gas, water cannons and police torture. The leaders have warned the government that if the important and legitimate demands of the employees are not met, the government will have to pay political consequences in the coming time.
