Demand for the establishment of Mother Tongue Punjabi Commission

Chandigarh- A special meeting of the office bearers of the Vishwa Punjabi Prachar Sabha was held today at the organization’s office in Sector-41 (Badeheri), Chandigarh, under the presidency of Principal Bahadur Singh Gosal. The meeting was attended by organization members, intellectuals, and Punjabi enthusiasts, including Senior Vice President Jagtar Singh Jog, Chief Advisor Rajkumar Sahowaliya (Former Deputy Secretary, Punjab Government), Advisor Balwinder Singh, and Prabhdeep Singh.
In the meeting, a resolution was unanimously passed demanding that the Punjab Government establish a "Mother Tongue Punjabi Commission" to implement and honor the mother tongue, Punjabi, in its true sense. The working mechanism of this commission should be modeled after the existing SC Commission and Women's Commission.
Organization President Bahadur Singh Gosal stated that there should be no laxity in the implementation of Punjabi in Punjab, and the establishment of a Mother Tongue Punjabi Commission is the need of the hour for the full implementation of the language. He emphasized fulfilling this demand soon and stated that a delegation from the organization will soon meet the Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann, to press for the establishment of the commission. 
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Rajkumar Sahowaliya and Jagtar Singh Jog said that the Punjab Government should accept this demand of the organization and give the Punjabi mother tongue the respect and honor it deserves.
