Delhi Bomb Blast 9mm cartridges recovered pistol not found from blast site
New Delhi: Delhi Police sources have confirmed the recovery of three cartridges, two live and one empty, from the car blast site near the Red Fort. The sources said that these 9mm caliber cartridges are from a weapon that no ordinary citizen can carry. These cartridges are usually kept by the armed forces or people with special permission.
A senior officer said that despite the recovery of the cartridges, no pistol or any part of it was found from the scene. “These cartridges are usually kept only by the armed forces or people with special permission,” the police said. The officer said that they are now trying to find out how these cartridges came there, and whether they were in the possession of the blast suspect.
The recovery of 9 mm cartridges from the blast site has added a new dimension to the investigation as authorities are currently probing the source of the explosives and whether it was linked to any terrorist or criminal network.
Security agencies have examined CCTV footage and collected forensic evidence from the blast site. The blast near the Red Fort complex in the national capital on November 10 has claimed the lives of 13 people so far.
