Decision to transfer Rohtakbased Hafed Feed Plant out of the city
Chandigarh, December 22:- Haryana Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that it has been decided to transfer Rohtak-based Hafed Feed Plant out of the city. The existing feed plant will be transferred to the Mega Food Park at IMT Rohtak and a new, modern animal feed plant will be set up.
Mr. Sharma was replying to a question asked by a member of the House during the winter session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Monday.
Dr. Sharma said that the Hafed Feed Plant located near the residential area of ??Uttam Vihar Colony, Rohtak, is now surrounded by a dense population, due to which the problems arising are causing inconvenience to the residents of the area.
He said that HAFED had set up a 100 MT daily capacity animal feed plant in Rohtak in 1976, which was upgraded in 2008 to increase its production capacity to 150 MT daily. At present, since this plant is located near a residential area, its transfer has become necessary.
Dr. Sharma informed that the administrative division of HAFED has given in-principle approval for the establishment of the animal feed plant, which has reserved about 7 acres of land in the Mega Food Park located at IMT Rohtak. The process of appointment of a project management consultant under the implementation of the project is also in progress.
He said that the existing premises are spread over an area of ??about 16 acres, which houses the animal feed plant, district office, 39 thousand metric ton capacity godown, employee residential quarters, general manager's residence and other office infrastructure. After the transfer of the feed plant, this land will be used for suitable development works.
