Debate Competition for AntiDrug Awareness at RBU
Kharar:- Strengthening its commitment towards social responsibility and youth empowerment, Rayat Bahra University hosted a district level debate competition on drug awareness at its campus. The event was organized by the University School of Social Sciences and Education in collaboration with the Punjab Government and the Office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Mohali.
Organized under the theme "Drug Addiction: Say No to Drugs", the competition aimed to sensitize young minds about the dangers of drug abuse, as well as to promote critical thinking and effective communication. Students actively participated in it, speaking for and against the proposal, and presenting insightful arguments with conviction and analytical depth.
Addressing the event, Dr. Inderpreet Kaur, Dean, School of Education and Social Sciences, University, highlighted that the university is continuously bridging the gap between possibilities and opportunities through meaningful initiatives. She emphasized that such efforts contribute to building not just careers but a more equal society. The event was organized under the patronage of Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra.
The guests of honour included Nirveer Singh, Ajaypal Singh and social worker Dilawar Singh, who motivated the participants with their encouraging words. The participants were felicitated with prizes which made the program impressive and memorable. Senior officer Gurmukh Rana and other faculty members were present on the occasion.
