Dealers tactics foiled laws hammer falls on illegal colonies
Karnal, January 14: The District Town Planner informed that demolition action was taken against four illegal colonies in Karnal town on Wednesday. He said that the first illegal colony, spread over approximately 3 acres near Rahul Hyundai on GT Road, saw demolition action against its sewer network and all unpaved and paved roads. The second illegal colony, spread over approximately 4 acres near Namaste Chowk, also saw demolition action against all its unpaved and paved roads, two shops, and the sewer network.
The third illegal colony, spread over approximately 6 acres on Bajida Road opposite Central Warehouse, saw demolition action against all its unpaved roads. Similarly, the fourth illegal colony, spread over approximately 2.5 acres near Ambedkar Bhawan in Sector-16, saw demolition action against all its paved roads, sewer network, and 6 DPCs (Damp Proof Courses). A Duty Magistrate and police force from the City Police Station were present during the operation.
The District Town Planner stated that continuous demolition action is being taken against illegal constructions. FIRs are also being registered against those involved in developing illegal colonies and illegal constructions. The District Town Planner is also regularly informing everyone that strict action will be taken against anyone who promotes illegal colonies and illegal constructions.
All kinds of measures are being taken to curb illegal colonies and illegal constructions. He appealed to the people not to fall into the trap of dealers and to buy plots in legally approved colonies in the city to build their homes. He also appealed to the dealers to develop colonies only after obtaining a license from the Town and Country Planning Department, Haryana, Chandigarh, so that the general public can benefit.
