DC reviews Prime Ministers Cares for Children Scheme
Una, November 11 - Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review the progress of the Prime Minister's Cares for Children Scheme and the status of beneficiary children. Organized by the District Child Protection Office, the Deputy Commissioner directly interacted with the beneficiary children and inquired about their needs and problems.
He stated that securing and empowering the future of children is the primary responsibility of the district administration. He added that ensuring a safe, educated, and self-reliant future for children is the district administration's top priority. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that the smiles of these children are the true success of our efforts.
The administration stands with them every step of the way. All necessary steps are being taken for their education, safety, and overall development, so that they do not feel alone at any level.
He explained that this scheme was launched for children whose both parents died during the COVID-19 pandemic. Under this scheme, students from class 1st to 12th are given a scholarship of twenty thousand rupees every year, and orphan children are also given four thousand rupees per month as pocket money directly transferred to their bank accounts.
The Deputy Commissioner also informed that four children from Una district were registered under this scheme, out of which three children have now been transferred to the Chief Minister Sukh-Aashray Yojana, so that they can get more comprehensive protection and support. District Child Protection Officer Kamaldeep Singh along with officers and employees of the department were present in the meeting.
